I didn’t update my blog for almost a month, I didn’t notice that until today I received a little message here….

THanks for asking, I am doing fine, just a bit busy to take care my little one, because I am living in my parents’ house while waiting to leave to SHanghai in July (31st).

And I have less time to knit, so, I have nothing to post about my knitting progress.

Since there is no news about my knitting, I will post some of the pictures of Erika.

we had some fun time with chalk drawing, bubble blowing, sand playing in the park, playing dominoes…. etc..

TOo bad that the weather these days wasn’t good enough for outdoor fun, so , we always stay at home and play her toys and read the books.

Nothing much to do when outside is raining.

Honestly, I don’t really like raining, it gives us a ’sleepy’ feeling.

Does your kid wake up with tears or smiles?
Erika usually wakes up with tears in the morning , I don’t know why, may be she slept on her own and felt lonely while woke up. Whenever I showed up , she wouldn’t weep anymore.

For late morning nap, she usually sleeps from 10:30 am till 12:30 noon. And I took a short video clip for her after waking up from the nap. She didn’t cry this time, but wanted to play with me.

Sorry that the clip was spoken in Chinese, but, I think, it’s ok, because I didn’t understand what Erika’s sayings anyway. We can take some good guess…

(I tried to ask her “where is the Mickey Mouse, where is the monkey, where…” and she pointed to me. Of course, not 100% correct. but, at least, it’s a good way for her to memorize the names of the objects.)

I finally finished the Helena Cardigan for Erika.

I took me almost half a year to finish this. I put it aside for so long after knitting the 1st sleeve. I found it very boring to knit sleeves.

BUt then, I Think, I shall finish more WIPs before I leave… So, I tried so HARD to finish it !

I didn’t follow the pattern for the neck and front edge, just because I  am lazy to do the pick ups… so, I just use the crochet hook and make one round with single crochet, and one more round with double crochet. That’s it.

Add the buttons (Heart shape bone buttons) on the left front.

I am not 100% satisfied with the final outcome, because it’s a bit BULKY on Erika. I think the bottom section is a bit too wide for her, and the neck is not well fitted neither.

Anyway, it keeps her warm, that’s the most important part. :)

Oh well, the best part is : I love the color of this yarn (Jojoland Rhythm).

I used only 4.01 balls to make this cardigan, and I think Erika looks quite good in this .. RIGHT?

Pattern:  Helena (from Knitty.com)

Needle sizes : 4.0 , 4.5mm needles

What, a knitting cruise?

Yeah , I didn’t know about this until today!

I found this cruise site from someone’s blog link.

I think this will be my dream cruise.

How fun would it be if all the knitters are on broad?

And we all just knit , eat, and sleep!

I took a look of the pricing for this kind of cruise, the cheapest one is around $1999 per person.

I wonder if I will have  a chance to join this kind of cruise one day.

Probably I need to wait until Erika grows up bigger (like 20’s ..)  so that I can have go for this cruise with my husband. He can rest/eat/watch movies/play in the cruise, and I can just KNIT KNIT KNIT and eat!

The good thing is : they also have some knitting classes on broad too. So, it’s not KNIT, but LEARN more skills and know more knitting friends. :D

Wow, would it be your dream too?

This is the package that I sent to my swap partner ANA,

(this is the picture that I took from Ana’s post.)

I love swap, and this is a ONE TIME swap (not like SP12 and Summer of yarn love swap, they last 3 months long). It’s so much fun to find things for her.

I hand made her some fabric buttons, because of taking of my baby, I can’t afford to knit anything for her.

Once I have more time, (when baby grows up more) I will definitely try to knit things for swap partners. Even a simple dish cloth.

I actually have some ideas what to make for swap partners:

1) matchbox notepad (I found some ’samples’ in Esty. ANd I think it’s quite easy to make, but very functional and neat)

2) glass  etching… (but still finding one material to make the etching…)

3) handmade album

etc…etc.. etc… Read the rest of this entry »
