something to treat myself

April 11, 2009 6 Comments

What do you love to treat yourself ?

Here is my list:

1) some chocolates (I am a chocolate lover! Especially dark chocolates)

2) Some cookies, hm, I love “Felix and Norton COOKIES” , extremely mouthwatering.

3) NEW yarn, no need to emphasis, I never get bored to go to yarn store and shop for new yarns and patterns.

4) Some fresh sashimi and sushi. I remembered when my husband wasn’t around, and my parents were out of town, I cooked something for Erika, and then brought her food to a Japanese restaurant, She ate hers, and I ate my yummy sushi, just PERFECT HAHAHA!
I bought myself some new yarn today in Romni, and also grabbed two books as well.

I’ve got the Norah Gaughan volume 4, because I love the Flower child on the cover page, it’s so pretty. Romni doesn’t have the Berroco Pima, so, I took the Rowan Calmer instead. WOW, this is my first time to try Calmer, it’s really soft, light and elastic to knit, I love it! 🙂

I hope I can finish this top by the end of April.

I didn’t start any project for Erika after the “Fiona”, I thought about the BSJ, or the February jacket, but finally I decided to treat myself something: knit something for myself. 🙂

starting a new project again…

November 24, 2008

After knitting the scarf for my husband, I suddenly found that Erika doesn’t have any scarf!!

Oh my GOd, I shouldn’t left her out.

SO, I am going to knit her a little scarf. Since she is tiny, she doesn’t need a long scarf, nor anything too fancy.

I used the stitch pattern from “A treasury of knitting patterns” by Barbara Walker.

THe SLipped Diagonal Rib pattern, it looks simple, but quite stylish if you compare with the usual 1×1, or 2×2 ribs patterns.

I casted on 20 stitches only, and repeat the pattern over and over.

I will try few more repeats tonight and see how it goes.

Slipped Diagonal Rib Pattern:

Row 1 (WS) – K1 , *K3, p1; rep from *, end K1.

Row 2 – K1, *Sl 1 wyib, p3; rep from *, end k1.

Row 3 – K1, *k3, sl1 wyif; rep from *, end K1.

Row 4 – K1, *Drop sl-st to front of work, p2, pick up dropped st and knit it, p1; rep from * , end K1.

Row 5 – K2, *p1, k3; rep from *.

Row 6 – K1, *p2, sl 1 wyib, p1; rep from * , end k1.

Row 7 – K2, *sl 1 wyif, k3; rep from *.

Row 8 – K1, p2, *drop sl-st to front of work, p2, pick up dropped st and knit it, p1; rep from * to last 3 sts, end drop sl-st to front of work , p1, pick up dropped st and purl it, k1.

(quite familiar to the ballband washcloth pattern though.)

look at this!!!

Lunch bag (pattern from Japanese book)

September 12, 2008 3 Comments

This is a lunch bag that I made this noon.

I like the fabric for this bag, because of it’s country style.

This bag is quite sturdy because the fabric for the lining is quite sturdy with fusible attached to it.

I love this bag’s design because it has a little cover inside the bag, which is for covering your lunch box and fruits.

The ribbon was added by me, I want the bag to be more secure. 🙂

Swaps + knitting = busy + happiness

Dear me, I am so busy recently that I really don’t have the time to update my blog.

But, today, I wanted to write something.

A special thanks to Amy, my SP12 secret pal.

She sent me a 2nd package, but somehow, we didn’t know why, and very disappointed that it was lost or something.. I hope one day I will see that package in my mailbox. 🙂

She was so kind to send me another 3rd package with many goodies inside.

Here is the picture, I especially love the mitten book. And just resist myself to start a project with Claudia Painted sock yarn. IT’s gorgeous!

I also love the yarn, it’s my first time to touch the EL silk yarn. Thanks Amy.

And really thanks for sending ERika a new cloth, she is so lucky! 😀 hahahaha

Besides the wedding decoration thing, I also knitted (and finished) a little baby shrug for Erika.

Since her dress (for wedding ceremony) is sleeveless, so, I guess she might be a bit cold in A/C area. The shrug was done, but , not very satisfied, it’s a bit too big for her.

Anyway, my hubby said that it looks good on her. 🙂

No picture yet , as I wanted to add something to it.

I also joined a hand purse swap in Ravelry.

I already started to knit that cable bag , and it’s half done already 🙂

it’s fast to knit a bag if using bigger needles (this is using size 6.5mm) .

My pal loves purple, it’s almost my fav color.

The yarn that I am using is Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran, plum color.
