What will you do if you need to wait for your kids while they are having 2 hours Arts class??
My choice is: knitting!
Today was Erika’s first day to start her Art class (community program, total 10 lessons, every Sat morning) , while she was having fun inside the Art gallery, I was having fun on knitting too in my car. haha.
(the art gallery in Unionville , a very small white house ….)
I didn’t take my shawl project out because it will be a bit messy to take the beads with me, so, I took the “Tunic” project with me. I thought about adding new colors (to shop for two more colors from Mary’s Yarn) , but then , I decided to repeat the colors because I didn’t want to waste them (and up to this point, I don’t have any other ideas to use the left over ) so, why waste them? And I am sure that Erika won’t mind repeated colors on the same Tunic.
Just few more rows to go and I am done for this cute Tunic!
Thank you Erika for giving me two hours breaks to knit… haha, I love you! 🙂
I am now having two projects on needles, one is a shawl for my aunt, and the other one is the Ava Tunic for Erika.
First of all , the Silhouette, this is a very lacy, airy shawl that I really adored in Ravelry’s latest patterns. My mom said that the Haruni looks so much better and elegant. Yes, I do agree with her, but, I do want to try ‘new patterns’ sometimes, and I think this airy lacy shawl looks good on my aunt too. This pattern is certainly easier than the Haruni, less charts to follow and not so easy to make mistakes too.
I am using my beloved Seasilk for this shawl, I really adore the smell of the seasilk, whenever I knit with it, I really don’t want to put it down!! I am already on 1st repeat of the lace pattern, I am sure that I will be able to finish it before April, so that I can mail this beautiful shawl to my Aunt for her coming Birthday in April. 🙂
Ava Tunic, I love this pattern a lot because it’s so colorful. Of course, it’s really depends on what colors you choose . I was trying to grab the very vivid rainbow colors for her, however, I finally decided to choose this ECO BABY by Debbie bliss, it’s so soft the cotton and I like its pastel colorway too. I hope the colors that I chose is a good combination for Erika. She is quite picky sometimes .. haha
I only have 5 colors right now, and seems like I shall get one or two more colors to make it more colorful. May be I shall drop by Mary’s Yarn again this afternoon….
Did I mention how much I love this Ava Tunic pattern? I love it’s button hole design at the back of the tunic, very carefully measured and designed. Also I love the centered increase and decrease methods that she introduced too. It is really neat.
I am sure that Erika will love it, and So Do I…
Again, I wish they have an option for “ADULT SIZE” too….however, they don’t . And probably it doesn’t look that great on adults… 😀 hhaha
welcome the Spring!
we started the Spring with chalk drawing today!!
I found that filling up the whole block looks really good….
and Erika did help out on coloring and drawing too. 🙂
I really love the way she signed her name , now, she is very good in writing word with appropriate way (using uppercase and lower case format) … Thanks the teachers at school teaching her this… 🙂
I painted this “HOPE”….
And then I painted this “JOY” , really love to color the whole block, looks like a little painting on the ground.
Then, we drew the buildings together, so much fun and colorful! 🙂
I was trying to capture all 3 blocks of paintings that I did , however, the sun was really too bright that I could hardly capture them all. May be tomorrow in the morning, I can take a better picture of that….
Please..no rain, don’t wash them away….
I love crochet , but don’t like the side effect of it : shoulder, arm pains….
I really have to be careful when I crochet, I can’t do it more than 30 mins, must take a rest in between of it.
But, I am glad that I can make a doily in one day.
This is a doily designed by Mayumi Kawai (河合真弓), I love his design a lot , lots of pretty lace patterns for doilies, small embellishments, accessories..
I bought this book from Books.com.tw, they are willing to ship internationally (by DHL!!). The best thing is: this publisher was authorized to reprint the Japanese version to Chinese ones, with a super cheaper price!! And this book was a combination of 2 or 3 books together! Which is really a good deal!! Because it’s translated to Chinese, I can fully understand everything inside! How nice!
I chose this doily as a practicing purpose, but then, I found that the result was pretty good enough to be a gift. so, I am going to gift this to my aunt who is now living in Australia. She is actually very experienced in knitting and crocheting, but she always makes things for families and friends, however, none for herself. So, why not make something for her and cheer up her day?
I hope she will love it. 🙂
My next cute project may be the ones shown on the above picture, aren’t they cute? They are supposedly to be very tiny , and great for ear rings… want to crochet them for some cute girls… 😀
I finally got this done with the zipper !!
I didn’t even block it, it looked very ok to me already!
I can’t wait to see my angel wearing this vest.
My dad saw this vest and he said that “Erika will love it, she must be very happy to see this with the pom pom “…
yeah, I love the crocheted ball added to the zipper too, it makes it more playful and cute.
